Hidden Meaning in Men’s Care Advertisement in Old Spice Product
1. The picture number 1 is a man who washing his body with Old Spice product. The advertiser use the figure of half-man and another is horse reminds us about the centaur, mythological creature from Greece. It does not refer to any centaur, but to the depiction of a man: handsome, strong, and bold like a horse. The man in the advertisement is taking a bath with Old Spice Body wash to clean his body.
2. The picture number 2 is the body of horse with smooth and moist hair. Even though horses are strong and bold, in the Old Spice the horse is illustrated has soft, and smooth hair. The advertiser attempts to send a message to the readers that Old Spice body wash is useful to moist the skin for man.
3. The textual meaning of “introducing double impact. Body wash, moisturizer, striped together. It’s two products in one awesome product.” That means this product has multiple functions: as clean the body keep it moisture. In addition to, the diction “awesome” in the last statement shows that this product is superior than other products. Also the word “introducing” means this product is the first kind.
